The
Police course is located in the Ranjitgarh township & has a
spectacular setting flanked by Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s historic
fort and the meandering Sutlej.
The Ranjitgarh Golf Course, situated in a low-lying area, was
formally established in 1982 as a 9 hole course. The original
course has been redesigned and re-laid by the late Col Bagga . With
fast greens & modern pop-up sprinklers with a underground network
of irrigation pipes this course has been a popular golf venue for
the residents of Ludhiana.
Recently, the course has been expanded to add another 9 holes and
is now an 18 hole par 71 championship layout playing to 5985 yards
from the tips. Though it’s relatively short when compared to the
current crop of championship courses, it offers a different
challenge with hazards criss crossing the fairways in the back
nine.
The Club house is a colonial structure and has a huge lounge,
dining room, an open terrace, besides a pool table, card room and
bar.
